The Gary Player Classic is a 72 hole strokeplay event held from Tuesday 25th to Friday 28th September 2018, with 18 holes to be played each day.
The Classic is open to all male amateur golfers who have not attained the age of 21 years, as at Tuesday 25th September 2018, with a Golf Australia handicap and who are members of a golf club affiliated through their District Golf Association with Golf Queensland, or other State/National Associations.
Entrants must satisfy the following age and handicap criteria:
15 Years & Under - GA Handicap limit 18.4;
16 -17 Years - GA Handicap limit 10.4;
18 - 20 Years - GA Handicap limit 6.4.
The field will be cut to the leading 30 players (plus ties) in the 15 & Under, and 16-17 age division, and the leading 20 players(plus ties) in the 18-20 age division after 54 holes. These players will then contest the final round on Friday 28th September.
The field capacity is 192 with the capacity of each division as follows: 15 and Under – 72 players; 16-17 Years – 72 players; 18-20 Years – 48 players.

Should entries be received in excess of this number per age division, the higher handicap players in one or all age divisions, will be eliminated based on their exact GA handicap at close of entries and placed on a reserve list in their age division. Should a division be under-subscribed at close of entries, any players originally balloted out in the other divisions will be entered in their respective divisions in an alternating allotment, with the youngest division of the remaining divisions selected first.
